Abstract
|
|
|
Pregnancy with liver cirrhosis and/or portal hypertension is uncommon.
Additionally, pregnancy in young women who previously underwent splenorenal shunt operation for portal hypertension due to liver cirrhosis is extremely rare.
Esophageal variceal rupture, fatal hemorrhage and epidural hematoma must be considered during the management of such patients.
This is a case of epidural analgesia for labor in a patient who previously underwent splenorenal shunt operation for portal hypertension due to liver cirrhosis.
